Our Bear Den built bird feeders. This helped to fulfill the “Baloo The Builder” requirement, where the scouts learn about hand tools, and use them on a building project.
Our Scouts Visited the Flagtown Firehouse and learned about being a firefighter.
Our Wolf Den (and their siblings) packed over 100 healthy meals for Samaritan Homeless Interim Project (SHIP), which provided services to those in need. For more information on this organization, please see
Pack 89 held its annual Pinewood Derby at the Municipal Building. The scouts had been working on their cars since the December pack meeting and did a great job of building creative and interesting cars. The scouts voted on the coolest-looking car in each den. Then the cars were raced to determine the fastest for each den and the fasted overall.
Our Scouts camped overnight on the Battleship NJ. As part of the encampment, scouts were given a tour of the ship, got to hear stories about it service in the Navy, and sleep in the same bunks as the sailors did.
Our tiger den (1st graders) built bird houses at their den meeting. Making a bird house is a step towards the tiger badge that partially fulfills the “My Tiger Jungle” adventure requirement.
At the January Pack Meeting, the scouts learned about Naive American Art. The even made some of their own, making totem poles, bracelets and dream catchers.
Pack 89 held it’s annual Applebee’s Breakfast Fundraiser. The event was bigger then it’s ever been. We filled the restaurant and raised lots of money for the Pack. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so successful.
Our Webelos (soon to be Boy Scouts) got started on learning knots required to earn the “Scout” rank when they bridge-up to boy scouts this March.
Our wolf den held a holiday part in lieu of its regular den meeting. The party was held at Roman Gourmet, and great pizza was enjoyed by all.
