Webelos (4th Grade)

Webelos Scouts (pronounced “WEE-buh-lohs”) begin preparing for the transition into Scouts BSA. To earn the Webelos badge, Scouts complete 6 required adventures and 2 electives. They take on more advanced outdoor skills, develop leadership abilities, and start living more deeply by the Scout Oath and Law.

Webelos Scouts focus on:

  • First responder and emergency skills

  • Outdoor skills like camping, hiking, and knot-tying

  • Personal fitness and goal setting

  • Learning about Scout troops and patrols

Example adventures include:

  • First Responder (basic first aid)

  • Stronger, Faster, Higher (personal fitness)

  • Webelos Walkabout (hiking & leadership)


🏹 Arrow of Light (5th Grade)

Preparing for the next adventure.
Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting—and it’s a big milestone! To earn the Arrow of Light badge, Scouts complete 6 required adventures and 2 electives, some of which carry over from the Webelos year if the Scout started early.

Cub Scouts - Arrow of Light Badge Requirements

This year is focused on independence, leadership, and preparing to join a Scouts BSA troop. Even if a child hasn’t been in Cub Scouts before, they can still join and earn the Arrow of Light badge.

Arrow of Light Scouts will learn:

  • Leadership and team-building

  • Outdoor survival basics

  • Citizenship and service

  • How Scouts BSA troops work and how to join one

Example adventures include:

  • Building a Better World (citizenship & community)

  • Outdoor Adventurer (camping skills)

  • Scouting Adventure (intro to Scouts BSA)
